Marine of Her Heart Page 7

He grabbed the condom with an obviously shaky hand. “In the shower,” he said through his teeth, trying to wrestle his cock from her hands, without much success, she was very happy to note. He did manage to get them both in there after a time, though she didn’t make it easy on him.

Genny dropped to her knees, ignoring the water that spilled around them from the shower head. She braced her hands on his thighs, leaned in, and began to suck him. Her mouth closed over his cock and she began to taste and tease him just as he teased her far too often. Her tongue swirled over the head of his cock and her head bobbed up and down on his length.

“God damn it!” he yelled out. A loud smack sounded. When she looked, she saw he’d braced a hand to the wall. He was staring down at her, hunger in his gaze as she took his cock into her mouth. “Fucking hell, Gen, that’s hot,” he growled out, pushing a hand into her hair gently.

She pulled back from him and licked the tip of his dick with just the tip of her tongue. “I’m glad you like it. I know that I’m loving it.” She went back to giving his cock the attention that it deserved. He might be enjoying himself, but she was too.

He let out a strangled sound as his fingers tightened in her hair. He wasn’t directing her, forcing her, nothing, he was just holding onto her as she did what she wanted. His breathing was heavy, his eyes half closed, and his hips slowly rocking to meet her every move.

She was loving this, the way that he was giving her everything she needed and she was able to do the same. She knew that he was getting close, his balls were starting to draw up and closer to his legs and she felt the heat of him surrounding her even more.

His fingers tugged on her hair. “Gen, stop, baby,” he bit out. “Baby, you have to stop so I can bury myself inside of you to come.” He tugged a little harder, not hard enough to hurt, but enough to get her attention.

Gen moved to her feet and looked up at him. One leg around his upper thigh, she pulled him close. “God, I need you.” She was on the edge of coming herself. She was desperate and needed him to be balls deep inside of her now. “Please, Vic, now.”

He’d torn into the condom and rolled it onto his cock as she’d stood. Grabbing her, he lifted her up, her back to the wall, and his cock slid through her slick folds. “Fuck! You’re so fucking wet,” he groaned out, thrusting into her again.

“Because I was rubbing my clit at the end as well.” Genny was holding onto him and leaned her head back to the shower wall. “God, you feel so fucking good.” She had her legs wrapped tightly around his waist and was bucking against him with each thrust that he gave her. “More.” It was a demand, pure and simple. She needed to come as much as he did.

Grabbing her arms, he pushed them over her head, holding them captive with one hand. The other he moved down to her breast, teasing her nipple, plucking, squeezing, and rolling it between his fingers. He was letting out little grunts as he pushed his cock into her again and again.

“Yes!” She cried out loudly, just shy of a scream, and only holding back for the sake of their hearing. “Victor.” She was whimpering now. Every thrust, every push, every single motion was seemingly wired into every nerve receptor that she had. “There, oh God damn, yes, there.”

His hand had moved, cupping her ass as he slammed into her again and again. He growled at her and bit the sweet spot between shoulder and neck. Not hard, just enough to let her know he was on the edge.

Her legs tightened on his thighs. She pushed back against him as hard as he was pushing into her. “Let go. I’m right there. I need you to come so that I can come with you. Please, baby, let go for me.” She was so close. She was riding the razor’s edge of pleasure and pain and loving it. The harder he took her, the more she enjoyed it.

Another deep growl rumbled out of him and she was sure it was her name. The bite of his teeth on her skin as he slammed into her hard and shuddered did it. He threw his head back, yelling her name as his cock twitched deep inside of her throbbing pussy.

Genny cried out his name once more as she came. The rush of her juice flowed over his latex-covered cock and she twitched there against him. Falling against him with a smile on her lips, she held onto him limply. “Heavens.” She was going to say something else, something that might not be good after only knowing him for a week, so instead, she simply pressed a kiss to his shoulder and held him close.

He let her hands loose, her arms falling down around him as he gathered her closer. “I have you,” he panted out softly. She felt them moving until he’d sat down on the bench she’d seen in the shower when they’d climbed in. “Just breathe, love, just breathe.”

She didn’t speak, just held onto him. The raw emotions that battled inside of her were ones that she had honestly never felt before. She had lusted after men before, who hadn’t? But this depth of emotion, this closeness? It was foreign to her.

Vic was stroking her back. “Gen, sweetheart, what’s wrong?” he asked softly, brushing a kiss to her shoulder. Turning his head, he nuzzled at her throat. “Come on, Gen, I can hear you thinking hard. What’s going on in that gorgeous head of yours?”

“You aren’t allowed to laugh at me.” Gennifer spoke softly, her cheek still to his shoulder. “I’ve never.” She hesitated and bit her lower lip. “I’ve never before felt this depth of emotion, Never have I felt a tidal wave of feelings with someone before. It’s both terrifying and humbling at the same time. I want.” She paused and took a moment to gather her thoughts again. Finally, she pulled back and looked at him. “I need you in my life, Victor. I’ve never said that to any other man. The only person I’ve ever said that to is my sister, and my dad when he was around. With you, it’s so different, though. I feel like I would die without you in my life. I feel as if I need you to simply breathe and carry on another day.” She had tears falling and she didn’t understand what she was feeling at all..

He cupped her face, stroking it, wiping at the tears moving over her cheeks. “Gennifer Baker, I love you too, sweetheart,” he said softly. Pulling her close, he brushed a gentle kiss over her lips, lightly biting at her lower one. “I think I’ve loved you from the very first night I held you in my arms as we talked and talked. I’m not going anywhere, Gen. Not now, not ever. I swear it.”

Genny could only nod. Holy Christ, she did love him. That was what this emotion was. She hugged him tightly and rubbed her cheek to his. Against his ear, she whispered her confession. “I love you too, Victor Michaels.” Words she had never said to a man before and words that scared the hell out of her. “I’m never letting you go. You are my Marine, my heart, and you saved my happy ass so that means you have to keep me. It’s a rule somewhere.”

“I’m sure it is, somewhere,” he agreed with a smile. Pressing a kiss to her lips, he gathered her in close, his arms tight around her. “I plan on keeping you forever. You are not getting away from me, Genny. Now, what do you say we clean up then crawl into that big bed out there and just sleep for a few hours wrapped up in one another?”

“I think that you have the best ideas ever, Marine of my heart,” she teased with another squeeze. “I look forward to one day being able to make love without the condoms. In the future, though. For now, you can get rid of that while I start to get cleaned up, and then you can wash my back and we can go sleep for like a day and a half?”

“Deal,” he said with a grin. Another kiss to her lips before he lifted her off his cock in a quick move.

  Chapter Eight

  Five weeks later...

Vic was watching her. She could feel his eyes stroking over her body slowly. They were out in the yard. She was sunning a little, with lots of SPF between her and the sun, and he was doing some clean up. Since the ranch was now his, he had really gotten into working on it.

They’d done a lot of work fixing all the fences, cleaning up all the roads and main areas of the ranch around the house. The house itself was in the midst of a major reno, beyond the upstairs, which they’d done when Vic, Simon, and Anthony had moved in—wi
th the Milners’ permission of course.

The sound of a phone ringing dragged her attention over to where her man, her half naked man, was working. He had his cell up to his ear and was talking, too low for her to hear. Then he went tense, his body swiveling at the hips and his eyes pinning her in place. That was not a good look.

Genny got up. She stood with her towel and wrapped it around her body as she walked toward him. She didn’t like the look he had on his face, especially not the hand moves he was giving to his friends and the looks of sheer military-instilled motion in place of the laughing men that had just been there.

“Vic?” she asked softly, her hand touching his bare shoulder, and that’s when she felt it. It felt like a wasp sting at first, a burning pain on her shoulder, and then she felt dizzy, felt sick, and it wasn’t until all of that she heard the sound of a shot echoing around them.

“What?” She touched her shoulder and pulled her fingers back. “What? What is this?” Oh God, it was blood? How? She didn’t understand. That’s when her world began to spin and the slight pain bloomed to what felt like an icy crater in her shoulder.

Victor grabbed her up in his arms and started to run. “Sniper!” he shouted to the others, his arms tight around her. He was weaving back and forth all over the place. It was not helping how sick she was feeling. In fact, it only made it worse. When he dove behind something, followed by a loud cracking sound, she lost her cookies.

The puking only made the pain worse, which had her crying. “What is happening?” Genny had led a fairly sheltered life. She had never been shot before, for one thing. “Oh God, I’m going to puke again.” She did just that. She sadly puked on someone’s shoes, but she couldn’t help it. She was dizzy, her stomach was now empty, and she hurt like hell. “How the hell did this happen?” Her vision wavered. The fringes began to haze and dull as shock set in. She began to shiver and told him she was freezing.

“Here.” Simon was there handing off a shirt and a bottle of water.

Vic unscrewed the bottle and handed it to her. “Rinse out your mouth and drink slowly,” he told her. He yanked a knife out of his boot and used it to cut up the shirt. “You were shot, baby. You fucking saved my ass because I’m pretty sure that was meant for my heart. It slammed into your shoulder, though, no exit wound, which means when we survive this, you get to have some surgery. For now, though, I need to bind the wound to keep you from bleeding out. I’m sorry, sweetheart, but this is going to hurt like a mother fucker.”

“I have three up on the hill coming our way,” Anthony said, sliding in next to them. “No clue where the fuck that sniper is, but I’m guessing he’s up on the ridge to the east. We’re okay here because it’s a lousy shot for him, but we are going to have to move to the house. We need weapons and some fucking backup.”

“Rhys is on the way, I’m sure,” Vic said as he pressed a folded piece of the t-shirt to her shoulder. “Sorry, love,” he whispered at her whimpered scream. “He was the one on the phone with me when the shooting started. I dropped my phone, though.”

“You had other things to worry about,” Simon said.

“Call him,” Vic said over his shoulder. Looking her in the eyes, he wrapped some long strips of cloth around her shoulder. “I’m going to tighten these. Scream all you want, baby. I promise, I will fucking kill this asshole and then get you some morphine for the pain.”

“And kick him in the balls,” Genny said quietly. Vic tightened the tourniquet around her shoulder and she screamed. “Cut his fucking balls off and then kick them,” she muttered, and leaned heavily against someone. She wasn’t certain who at this point and honestly didn’t care. “Okay. I think I got this. As long as you lead me, I will be able to make the house. I can’t hinder you. Once we are there, you can put me in that room you boys were working on behind the pantry, and shut the door so you aren’t worried about me getting in the line of fire or whatever.” She couldn’t remember what Victor had told her the room was, but she knew it was safe. “Son of a bitch, getting shot hurts.” She was seeing double, but she was alive. As long as she hurt, she was alive, right?

“Amen to that,” Vic said, shooting her a grin. Leaning over, he pressed a kiss to her lips and then scooped her up in his arms. He shifted his stance so they were pointed at the house. “On three,” he said.

“Fuck that shit,” Anthony said. “Three!” he yelled, and took off running.

Vic was right on his ass, and she saw Simon right behind them. Anthony hit the door hard, just plowed right through it. “Nice, now we have to fix that too,” Vic bitched.

“It’s better than getting shot, douchebag,” Anthony said with a grin as he popped up on his feet again. “Get her in the safe room. I’ll grab the weapons,” he told them before jogging off.

“I’ll get the kit. We need to get her hooked to an IV sooner rather than later. She needs the fluids,” Simon said as he moved past them to one of the cupboards.

Vic just headed straight for the space off the pantry. He pushed the door open and eased in with her, setting her down on the cot that was in there. “How you doing, love?” he asked softly.

“There are two of you,” she said with a loopy grin. “I love you, Victor Michaels, but I don’t think that I could handle two of you.” So she may be more than a little out of it. “The pain is still there, hurts like crazy, but I will survive until you are able to get those bastards. Kill them for coming and bothering our downtime together, okay?” She closed her eyes. “Especially the ass who thought to take you from me.”

“That’s just the blood loss, baby,” he said. “Once we get you hooked up to an IV, get some fluids in you, you’ll feel better.”

“We have some morphine too,” Simon said as he came into the room. He crouched down, digging a bag of saline out to hang on a hook from the wall, likely not actually meant for that purpose, but it seemed to work well. “Here, find a vein on her and get that puppy in. What’s her weight?”

Vic shot a look to her and shook his head. “I’m not fucking touching that question, even if she is loopy from blood loss. She’s got a hell of a memory on her.”

“One ten, but if you tell anyone I will deny, deny, deny,” Genny told Simon. “So, please, morphine is a very nice thing, because right now I’m hurting like hell and I’m ready to take someone’s head off.” Leaning her head back against the pillow that was on the cot, she closed her eyes. “Okay, that hurts. I need to lie on my side. Hopefully, it will help the nausea as well.”

“Just lay still, love,” Victor said softly. There was a pinch on the back of her hand before she felt him smoothing something over her skin. “Start the drip,” Vic said, likely to Simon. “Okay, love, I’m going to give you the morphine here in a moment. I want you to relax for me, slow breaths, and just focus on my voice. Here we go, morphine going in. You should feel a hell of a lot better real soon here.”

Genny focused only on Victor. She didn’t listen to the weapons being readied, or the sounds of the other two men. “Oh that feels lovely.” Her words began to slur. “I should warn you.” She yawned. “I get sleepy with morphine so when I fall asleep, that’s why, okay? So don’t think I’m being bad and ignoring you.”

“That’s fine, Genny. You just sleep while we go and take care of business. I’m going to lock you in here, though. So, if you wake up alone, please don’t freak out. We’ll be back for you, promise.” She felt his hands cupping her face a moment before his lips brushed over hers. “I love you, Gennifer. Sleep, and I’ll see you soon,” he said against her lips.

“Don’t get hurt. I would be very upset with you if you got hurt before you got it in your mind to ask me to marry you.” She was grumbling and drugged out. “Oh that’s nice,” she whispered when Simon, she thought it was Simon at least, covered her with a blanket. “You go and you kill those asses for coming here, and make sure they know that we Texans don’t take shit lying down. Well, I am, but I’m shot so that’s allowed, right?” She lifted her bloody finger to his
cheek and smiled. “I will be fine. Lock me in and do your thing.”

“Should we even mention we’re not Texans?” Anthony asked from somewhere outside the room. “Because I think that might be pertinent. At least in this situation.”

“Shut up, Crank. Now is not the time to point out we’re not Texans. Besides all that, neither are Peretti and his hit squad out there. Hell, I’m pretty sure they aren’t even American,” Simon said.

Victor stroked her cheek gently. Another kiss to her lips before the blankets were adjusted and he moved away. “See you soon, Gen.” Then they were gone, the door shutting and locking behind them.

Taking his weapon from Crank, Vic checked it over quickly and took the extra magazines. Sticking them in his pockets, he accepted the shirt from Simon and pulled it over his head. “Let’s go,” he said. “Spider, take the front. Crank, you and I are going out the back.”

The men split up and moved into their positions. Looking to Crank, he gave him the signal to head out. They would be working in silence until they had Peretti and his men bagged and tagged.

Peretti was his, though. He’d brought the fight to Victor’s house, at Victor’s woman. The man would be lucky if he didn’t take Genny’s advice about his nuts. Very, very lucky.

Peeking around the edge of the door, he scanned the exterior. He didn’t see anything out the back. On the downside, they were going to be in view of the sniper for a bit. Not much to be done about that, though. Taking a breath, he backed up for a running start. In his mind, he was cussing himself for not getting the surveillance set up before now. He had been lax, something that he would change in the future.

Holy hell, he’d better get through this without another bullet wound. He’d be seriously pissed if he got shot again.

Taking a breath, he took off running and dove out of the house. The sound of a ricochet told him the fucking sniper was watching for them. Son of a bitch, that had been close. If not for his dive, he’d have had another hole to explain to someone. “Not fucking happening,” he muttered under his breath. He had an idea where the sniper was because of the trajectory of the shot, so he just had to keep from getting shot in the meantime.
